The Sierra Leone Football Association with support from FIFA and in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education has commenced a 3-day training workshop for over 50 physical and health education teachers at the Wusum Hotel in Makeni.

The three-day working workshop commenced on the 5th, February 2024 geared toward preparation for the launching of the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) Programme in Sierra Leone. The three-day workshop commenced on the 5th, February 2024.

The opening of the training was witnessed by the Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, Technical Director Ibrahim Bah, Director of Sports at the Ministry of Sports Haroun Korji, Director of National Institute of Sports at the National Sports Authority Victor Hastings Spaine, and the Deputy Director of Education North-East Region Sahr Ruben Suluku.

Declaring the training open, the Acting General Secretary Ing. Mohamed Benson Bawoh encouraged the participants to take the training very seriously, adding that “the country relies on you for the success and sustainability of this novelty”.

The training will end with a children’s football festival at the Wusum Field, which shall symbolize the official launching of the F4S programme on Wednesday, February 7, 2024
