The Head of media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association , Ibrahim Kamara has updated the public on Leone Stars chances of qualifying to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He started by confirming that Sierra Leone now lies in Group A which comprises 4 teams namely, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.

He further emphasized that Sierra Leone should have won the Guinea Bissau Matche in order to make our chances of qualifying clearer.

He revealed that Sierra Leone now lies in Group A which comprises 4 teams namely Nigeria Sao Tome, Guinea Bissau and Sierra.

He  outlined the chronological standing of the table as Nigeria currently sit at the top of it with six points, Guinea Bissau 4points and Sao Tome 0 points.

He added that Sierra Leone will be travelling to Sao Tome in September for Match Day 3 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.. He described the match as a must win for Leone Stars, because losing that match will make Leone Stars chances of qualifying thinner.

He further revealed that if Leone Stars beat Sao Tome, they will gets 4 points and also hope that Nigeria will defeat Guinea Bissau considering  their strength and matches played so far.

He concluded that every game is different and he is not ruling out Guinea Bissau posing a threat for Nigeria. He further clarified that if Nigeria defeat them Leone Stars will gets the same points with Guinea Bissau.

Kamara expressed optimism that Leone Stars will achieve this objective base on their strength.He cautioned the Technical team that Leone Stars must ensure to win all matches in there next matches and get a draw away to secure their spot on Afcon 2023 Competition
