Sports Minister, Ibrahim Nylenkeh, Director General of National Sports Authority (NSA) Kennehth Brima and the President of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Thomas Daddy Brima will face the Parliametry Committee on Sport today 30th November 2022.

The reason for the probe is to look into Sierra Leone’s National Football Team trip to Dubai in which they played the Team B of Algeria.

This probe comes at a time when other sporting disciplines are struggling to get money for international competition overseas, while Sierra Leone National Football Team, Leone Star sneaked out of Freetown with over $200,000.
According to report, over 50man delegation left Sierra Leone including the Minister of Sports, Ibrahim Nyelenkeh, Director General of National Sport Authority Kenneth Brima and the Football Association President Thomas Daddy Brima for Dubai with US$200,000 which is correspondingly 5.4 Billion old Leones now 5.4 Million.

Reports from Dubai revealed that Sierra Leone National Team was scouting for team to play and they ended up playing Algeria Team B who defeated them 3:1.

The reports continued that they were supposed to play another team but they weren’t able to get any team to paly and it is for this reason that Sierra Leoneans are calling on the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate them.It was welcoming news when the Parliamentary Sport Committee came out with a statement that they have invited the Minister of Sport, Director General of the Sports Council and the FA President for them to explain about the Dubai Friendly.

Earlier, Sport Writers Association in a Press Release called on the ACC to investigate those who were involved n organizing such a trip which ended up to be an embarrassment to Sierra Leone.
