Leone Stars will clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria today, 18th June 2023. Leone  Stars Coach John Keister is expected to start the following  players; Ibrahim Sesay will man the goaline, Augustine Williams will lead the attack, Abu Dumbuya, Alusine Koroma and Mustapha Bundu will hold the midfield while Abubakarr Samura, Prince Barrie Alpha Turay  and Emmanuel Samadia  start in a 4-man defense.

Ibrahim Sesay

The home-based goalkeeper has proven that he can be trusted in goal after impressing performance in Leone Stars Last AFCON Qualifying matches against Sao Tome . John Keister is expected to start him against Peseiro’s Men.

Abu Bakarr Samura [ Center Back]

The centre-back’s consistency in the heart of the Leone Stars defence is a key reason why he will surely start against the Nigerians. Samura Scored against Sao Tome in Leone Stars 2-0 win against Sao Tome in their last AFCON qualifier.

Alpha Turay[ Center Back]

FC Kallon defender Alpha Turay put a commendable performances in the Sierra Leone Premier League and international matches for his Home based side FC Kallon .
The decision to pair him with Samura in the starting 11 would probably be a straightforward one for the British born tactician.

Prince Barrie [ Right Back]

The East End Lions Star is one of the high-profile Home based players in the Leone Stars Squad. He was in fine for against Sao Tome and will be keen to help his team mate return to winning ways against Nigeria.

Emmanuel Samadia [Left-Back]
Samadia has been one of the primary choices on the Left since his debut for the National Team. Even with the presence of other fine defenders, Samadia is in a Pole Position to make the starting team.

Abu Dumbuya [ Central Midfielder].

Barring any late fitness issues or setback, the SLIFA Captain will definitely start against the fellow West African Side.

Alusine Koroma [ Central Midfield ]
Having performed well in his last appearance against Sao Tome, Koroma is expected to be back in the squad if fit as he offers greater balance in the middle. It is likely to be an Abu Dumbuya and Alhassan Koroma In the middle of the park.

Mustapha Bundu [Right Winger]
Thanks to his impressive goal against Sao Tome, the Anderlecht attacking midfielder is expected to play on the right flank. Bundu is likely to drift infield as a wide play maker.

Augustus Kargbo[ Left Winger]

The Crotone attacker has been impressive against Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome, and he will likely be selected by John Keister to start in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Super Eagles.

Alhaji Kamara [Center Forward]

The in-form Randers Front man ought to continue in attack after finding the net twice in one of Leone Stars previous encounters with the Super Eagles.

Augustine Williams [Center Forward]

Although the American based striker was unavailable for the double headers against Sao Tome, he is in line to shoulder Leone Stars goal scoring responsibilities as he must do all it takes to secure all points from Passeiro’s men.
