Leone Stars Home-Based Team commenced training at the Murray Town Field on Tuesday 9th May 2023 ahead of their 2023 AFCON Qualifiers against Nigeria in June.

The Technical Team of the Sierra Leone national senior male team (Leone Stars) recently invited a group of 36 home-based players to commence training in preparation for the country’s next encounter against Nigeria in the ongoing TotalEnergies AFCON
Qualifiers in June this year.

A win against Nigeria in Match Day 5 in June will give Sierra Leone 8p0ints and place the team better position to qualify for their fourth AFCON Tournament.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Thomas Daddy Brima was in attendance at the Murray Town Field.

President Brima had a short meeting with the players after the training. He urged the players to work hard take and take their profession very hard if they would like to be called up to the final squad.

Sierra Leone currently lies 3rd in Group A log with 5 points trailing behind Guinea Bissau and Nigeria.
