Super Eagles full-back, Kingsley Ehizibue may miss all-important AfCON clash against Sierra Leone on 18 June in Monrovia, Liberia.

Sierra Leone were refused permission to host match at the newly built Southern Arena because of lack of standard hospitality venue.

Ehizibue, who plays for Italian club Udinese, is said to be suffering from a knee injury and underwent a ligament construction surgery on his right knee.

Tutto Udinese reported that he has already begun rehabilitation.

Ehizibue is undergoing his rehabilitation therapies at the Top Physio Balduina gym at Villa Stuart but will return to Udine to continue the therapy at the Bruseschi Sports centre.

The full-back is estimated to spend six weeks under rehabilitation ruling him out of the Super Eagles squad.

Ezibihue first attracted the Super Eagles technical staff in 2020 but couldn’t honour their invitation due to COVID-19.

Nigeria are currently leading Group A in the Qualifiers while Sierra Leone is in third place. A win for the Super Eagles will see them qualify for Ivory Coast next year.
