The Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone Madam Sibel Erkan today Thursday, December 2nd visited the Sierra Leone National Senior male team- Leone Stars- during training at the Sierra Leone Football Association playing field, Kingtom, Freetown.

Madam Erkan’s purpose of visiti was to see and interact with the players after they recently returned from Turkey where they engaged The Coelacanths of Comoros in a friendly encounter.
Introducing the Ambassador to the players and technical staff, the SLFA Head of Media and Marketing- Ibrahim Kamara- stressed on the “extraordinary” role played by Madam Sibel Erkan and her Embassy staff in the “speedy facilitation and issuance of visas” to the entire Leone Stars delegation that traveled to Turkey last month. *“We were also thrilled by a huge visa-fee waiver worth over Twenty Million Leones (Le 20,000,000) granted to the entire delegation by Madam Erkan”.* Kamara Said.
                                                                       
During her brief interaction with the players, Madam Sibel Erkan asked whether the team had a good experience during their stay in Turkey. With broad smiles in their faces, they responded affirmatively.
She furthered by consoling the players for their 2nil loss to Comoros and encouraged them to “never loose focus on their trainings and preparations” as she wished them goodluck on the TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021 in January next year.
As a token of appreciation and a symbol of respect, the Head Coach John Kiester presented to the Ambassador a pair of Leone Stars official jersey and a match ball signed by all players and technical staff present at the training ground.
