In a strategic move to drive the digital transformation agenda and foster innovation, the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation has held a strategic meeting with private sector companies for the Innovation Entrepreneurship vision for Sierra Leone on Wednesday, 28 February 2024.

Against the backdrop the backdrop of this meeting, the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation in Sierra Leone successfully secured 130 acres of prime land for the development of a state-of-the-art facility known as TECH and INNOVATION CITY in Bo.

To make this vision a reality, the Ministry brought together key stakeholders from the private sector to commit their roles in the Tech and Innovation City. Categories of committees include Legal, Infrastructure, and Programs.

Salima Monorma Bah, Minister of Communication Technology, announced the government’s hands-off approach to managing the Tech and Innovation City. Emphasizing private-public sector collaboration, she highlighted the important role of private sector experts in steering this project.

Representatives from private sector organizations, including Easy STEM, BO Innovation Hub,ELBA (SL) Limited, Job Search, Skool Grind, BlueRibbon Solutions, Fix Solution (SL) Limited, KNS Techno Hub, Reems, INKmedia, Creative Hub Africa, and  Life By design, were present.

In a unified response, participants lauded the government’s efforts and called on other stakeholders to come on board.
