The Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) of the All People’sCongress (APC) has issued a press release debunking the statement of the Publicity Secretary of the party on the reason for flag bearer, Samura Kamara’s travel to the United States.

The press release stated that the Publicity Secretary is misleading supporters of the party and the public by saying Samura Kamara’s visit to America is to engage stakeholders on future governance.

The IGTC disclosed that Kamara’s visit complies with the court order about the Chancery trial.

“It could be recalled that, in the last ruling of Justice Fisher on the ongoing Sierra Leone Chancery trial, it was ordered that for the court to give a proper verdict on the case, there should be “locusts in co”. Where the court will move to the United States and get first-hand information and physically access the Chancery building,” the Committee stated.

They furthered that it is on that note that the flagbearer and a team of his lawyers, together with the High court Judge, and members of the prosecution team have left the shores of Sierra Leone for the US.

The ITGC urged the party’s Publicity Secretary to apologize to members of their party and the general public as a whole.

They stated that the APC Publicity Secretary should deviate from giving fake information to Sierra Leoneans in the future, adding that politics of deceit has no place in the 21st century.

“Victory is ahead of us on June 24th when the ITGC would have presented a team that has no pending criminal trial and is capable of winning the elections in the first ballot. In the cause of struggles of the APC, there’s a victory,” the ITG concluded.
