The Sierra Leone Police- East in collaboration with the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB) and Leeman has rolled out a two-day peoples’ engagement in Kenema on the bid to help propagate the message of non-violence ahead of the June 2023 elections and the campaign against Drugs and Political Violence.

This was made reality through the involvement of Leeman and his dynamic team who stormed major streets in Kenema city on the 28th March 2023, with their unique styles of musical and drama performances on non-violence and drug abuse campaigns.

The performance started at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School and proceeded to Ansarul Islamic Secondary School, in engaging students including bike riders and other youths on non-violence messages as well as drugs abusive.

The team engaged Strategic areas within the municipality for the transmission of the message and for it to reach the actual individuals and some of these places reached on the first day were, the C’ Curve Lorry Park, Fisheries Market, ‘how-for-do’ Lorry Park, and some principal Streets benefitted from the outstanding performances of King Leeman De Great and his Drama Group.

A representative from the Anti- Drugs Squad, Md. Isata Kallon in making her submission stated that, the abuse and misuse of drugs should be curtailed by the youths for a better sierra leone and if only the youths can have a better thought of it then the future will be brighter, whiles Bockarie Gamanga of LPPB talked about violence during elections.

The team was greatly appreciated by the students, the Okada riders, taxi drivers and the passers-by who witnessed the program and many promised to keep and maintain the peace before, during and after the elections in June 2023.
