Sierra Leone’s Former Minister and Founder of Awareness Times Newspaper, Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has called on the President Julius Maada Bio led Sierra Leone Government to reveal identities of patients who have been tested positive for novel Coronavirus disease in Sierra Leone.

Blyden made this call as the number of confirmed cases rose to 8 while over 300 are held in Quarantine in Sierra Leone. The novel COVID-19 has infected over a million worldwide and has killed half a million Worldwide.

According to Blyden who also doubles as a Medical Doctor, her request is backed by the Public Health Ordinance (Act 23 of 1960) as which allows for open identification of “all those with notifiable infectious disease inside Sierra Leone.”

In a series of Tweets, Blyden also asked the First Lady, Fatima Bio to also stay off from matters concerning medical professionals as She will not challenge her on “matters of Movies, Beauty Pageants or Showbiz”.

She also advised the Minister of Health to footsteps of the former APC Minister by following the dicatates of Section 37 and 42 of Public Health Ordinance.
