21-Year-Old Remanded for Alleged Murder of Cousin
Salamatu Y. Kamara Magistrate Marke Ngegba of the Magistrate Court No.1 has remanded 21-year-old Mohamed Jagitay for the alleged murder of his cousin Ibrahim Jagitay, at Malambay Villahe, Waterloo.
It was alleged that the accused Mohamed murdered his cousin on Friday 28th July 2023 at Malambay Villahe, Waterloo in the Western Area District Council. According to the police, the deceased Ibrahim Jagitay was discovered by one Ibrahim Kargbo after he was brutally murdered by the accused Mohamed Jagitay.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused in court, no plea was taken. The accused is without a legal representation and is standing a one count charge of murder.
The police prosecutor Inspector TAP, informed the court that he would not proceed with the matter and in the circumstance requested for an adjournment to have conference with his witnesses. Magistrate Ngegba granted his application and remanded the accused in prison while the matter was adjourned to Tuesday. September 26, 2023.
