Sierra Leone Becomes One of The 8 African Countries to Allocate Funding to Tackle Malnutrition
Mohamed Aruna Sierra Leone has allocated funding specifically for tackling malnutrition, making it one of eight countries in Africa to do so.
The Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS), and the United Nations Children Fund in Sierra Leone have secured 3,400 cartons of ready-to-use therapeutic food for under-five babies.
The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Austin Demby, has made the health issue in the country a topmost priority.
The Ready-To-Use therapeutic food (RUTF) will be used to treat malnourished children in Sierra Leone. It was funded by the government of Sierra Leone through the nutrition match window, a global initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, and FCDO.
