In a viral tweet, the United States Embassy has congratulated Sierra Leoneans for the launch of an institutionalized Inter-Party Dialogue as called for under the National Agreement for National Unity.
According to the statement from the Embassy, the new initiative provides an opportunity for all political Parties to work together to resolve differences, build national unity , and ensure long-term peace and stability.
The Embassy affirmed that they look forward to supporting this new mechanism to advance the aspirations of the Sierra Leonean People for democracy, health and Prosperity./
Meanwhile, In an unprecedented move in the geo – political history of Sierra Leone, the international partners, particularly the Commonwealth, the AU and ECOWAS earlier successfully brokered a peace dialogue between the main opposition APC party and the ruling SLPP government in a bid to ensuring that peace, democracy and good governance are not undermined in the country.

The final communiqué on the post-election peace dialogue that has been implemented pointed out that Both parties agree to the institutionalization of an inter-party dialogue framework between the APC, SLPP and other political parties and should be facilitated by the government.
