Extraordinary display of endurance and adventure, Prince Akuwa, an engineer hailing from Sierra Leone, has etched his name in history as the first Sierra Leonean to complete a round-trip motorbike journey from Sierra Leone to Ghana and back.

Commencing his odyssey on December 15, 2023, Akuwa charted a course through Liberia and Ivory Coast, ultimately reaching the vibrant city of Accra, Ghana, on December 17, 2023.

Undeterred by the challenges of the open road, Prince Akuwa embarked on this extraordinary venture, covering vast stretches of diverse terrain over two days. His journey, not only a testament to personal determination but also a means to overcome the economic hurdles posed by exorbitant flight ticket prices from Sierra Leone to Ghana.

However, he wasted no time in commencing his return journey, departing from Accra on December 20, 2023. Displaying commendable resilience, he traversed the same challenging route, arriving back in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on December 22, 2023.

Looking ahead, Prince Akuwa has ambitious plans to cultivate and expand this initiative. He envisions involving young individuals from Sierra Leone in similar cross-country motorbike journeys, fostering a spirit of adventure and resilience. In a bold declaration, Akuwa announced his intention to undertake a more extensive expedition in March 2024 – a motorbike journey from Sierra Leone to Canada.
