Treason: Court Tells Former President Koroma’s Lawyers to Present Progress Medical Report
Sorie Abubakar A Magistrate court in Sierra Leone has asked the Lawyers representing former President Ernest Bai Koroma to present a new medical report demonstrating his health progress.
Magistrate Santigie Bangura raised concerns on Wednesday about Koroma’s absence from court proceedings, despite being granted bail in January on medical grounds.
Koroma who served Sierra Leone as President from 2007 to 2018 is facing a four-count charge relating to his purported involvement in the overthrow of the Sierra Leonean government of President Julius Maada Bio on November 26, 2023. The charges include treason, misprision of treason, and harboring.
On January 17, Koroma was granted permission to depart Sierra Leone to Nigeria for urgent medical treatment. The decision follows a successful bail review application submitted by his legal team, seeking a ninety-day allowance for his overseas medical attention. The case was adjourned to Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
Although the former President was due to appear in court today. He did not show up as scheduled.
The court has adjourned the matter to March 27, 2024, pending the submission of a new medical report by Koroma’s legal representatives.

If Maada Bio cannot fight and bring justice for the fallen heroes and the citizen of this country, God 🙏 will arrest him and that of the so called lawyers and punish Ernest Bai Koroma and others who involved in the distraction of lives and properties of this land. The blood of the souls will destroy them all.
The fallen heroes fight to save the life of the president in return we hope to fight for them and bring them all to justice but he failed to do it. ONE BAD TURN DESERVE ANOTHER.

Perhaps the magistrate and or the sureties need to be detained so the producing of Ernest can be sped up, or are the prosecutors now sleeping with the defendants? Just asking oh.
