The Acting Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Hon. Justice Nicholas C. Browne-Marke, has handed over a collection of weapons, used as evidence in criminal cases, to the National Commission for Small Arms for disposal.
These weapons, previously stored by the Judiciary without proper security, included pistols, rifles, and ammunition. The transfer aligns with the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms, mandating the collection and destruction of surplus and illicit weapons.
Deputy Commissioner Lieutenant Colonel Rtd. Luke Foday Ndonema praised the Judiciary for their cooperation and secure handling of the weapons.
The event was attended by senior officials from the police and defense sectors.
