This figure comes from the analysis of the recently released 2024 WASSCE results and marks a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to improve academic standards and increase university admissions.
The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Hon. Conrad Sackey, extended heartfelt congratulations to the teachers and schools that saw 100% of their candidates meet the university entry requirement. He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of educators who played a pivotal role in preparing students to excel in this year’s WASSCE.
“This is a testament to the incredible efforts of our teachers, and we salute those who have ensured their students meet the minimum standard for university admission,” he said.
The 2024 WASSCE results also highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to tackling exam malpractice and ensuring quality education for all.
The ministry’s initiatives, including improving teacher qualification standards and tightening exam regulations, have contributed to this year’s success. As nearly 40,000 students now qualify for university education, the future of Sierra Leone’s youth looks brighter than ever.
