Former President Koroma’s Treason Trial Will Continue – Attorney General Insists
Sierra Leone’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, recently provided important insights into the medical leave of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, who is currently receiving treatment in Nigeria.
In his statement, Alpha Sesay also addressed the distinction between Resolution 4 of the National Peace Agreement, which concerns political prisoners, and the ongoing treason trial of the former president.
The Attorney General clarified that while Resolution 4 calls for the release of political prisoners, Koroma’s case is not covered by this provision. The resolution does not apply to individuals facing serious criminal charges such as treason.
Alpha Sesay further emphasized that the legal proceedings in Koroma’s case will continue as prescribed by law, regardless of his medical leave.
This clarification comes amid growing public interest and concern regarding the legal status of Ernest Bai Koroma, who is currently embroiled in a treason trial.
The Attorney General reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served, while also recognizing the importance of respecting the legal rights and medical needs of all individuals involved.

(1) Are you not secured against disadvantages due to the security provided by the government to protect our lives and property?
(2) What is the cost of a 50kg bag of rice now as compared to the previous cost?
(3) Have you heard about the reduction on the prize of a bag of Cement?
(3) What about all the infrastructural developments that has been physically done in improving the infrastructures of the country within the last 7 years (2018-2025)?
Traveling suffering aliviation stepped up by the government in providing bus service, commuting commuters from the far east and west of Freetown?

Today, over thousands of commuters are rightfully benefiting from the bus service.
(4) Onions are being planted in country which has now propelled mass reduction on the price of the commodity.
(5) School Bus for our school going children, easily accessed, cost per child, minimal, etc. how about that?

Are they not citizens of this country?
Does the life of Ernest Bai Koroma superior to those died in defense of the country, including yourself?
