MBSSE Dismisses Social Media Rumors on Discontinuation of New School Curriculum
Sahid Bangura The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has firmly condemned the alleged information circulating on social media regarding the discontinuation of the new curriculum rollout for schools.
The denounced claim, which evolved earlier in this month of May stated, “The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) wishes to inform all school authorities, educators, and stakeholders that the implementation of the New Curriculum system is hereby discontinued.”
Contrary to the false claims, the Honourable Minister, Mr. Conrad Sackey, confirmed through a press statement that he has not issued any directive to halt the new curriculum or revert to the old one for the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) preparations.
The Ministry has labeled those reports as entirely unfounded and approached them with strong disapproval. In an official statement dated May 7, 2025, the MBSSE emphasized that no such directive has been issued by Minister Sackey or any other officials within the Ministry. They urged the public to treat those fabricated claims with the disdain they deserve.
The MBSSE highlighted the importance of relying on verified and official communications from their office. They called on all educational stakeholders to disregard any unverified information that lacks factual basis and could potentially disrupt the educational environment.
