Prince E. O. Cole Appointed Secretary to Cabinet and Head of Civil Service

The Government of Sierra Leone today announced the appointment of Mr. Prince E. O. Cole as the new Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service (SCHoCS).

The appointment was made by His Excellency the President, Brigadier General (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio, in consultation with the Public Service Commission, in accordance with Section 68(2) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No. 6 of 1991).

The announcement was formally signed by Yusuf Keketoma Sandi Esq., Press Secretary to the President, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Cole takes over from John Sumailah who currently holds the role.

The Cabinet Office serves as the office of the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service (SC&HoCS), who is appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the House of Parliament.

The SC&HoCS acts as the President’s principal adviser on civil service and implements the President’s civil service policies through Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
