Sierra Leone international defender, Abdulai Juma Bah, has joined French Ligue 1 side, OGC Nice, on a one-season loan deal from Manchester City.

The news was announced on Nice’s official website, which described Bah as a “1.95m defensive recruit” who is “well known to L1 fans” after playing in France for the last six months.

According to Nice Sporting Director Florian Maurice, the club had been monitoring Bah’s progress for some time and was impressed by his performances during his time at Lens.

We’ve been following his progress for some time, and we found him to be a very good performer during his time at Lens,” Maurice said. “The numbers show this. Juma is a young player with great potential and, importantly, we think he can quickly adapt to the coach’s ideas.

Maurice highlighted the reasons behind the signing, stating that Bah will strengthen an area of the team that suffered two major injuries in the previous season.

He will strengthen an area where we had two major injuries at the end of last season,” he said, adding that “There’s an alignment between our project and his ambitions. Juma joins the group at the start of pre-season, which is ideal for quickly integrating and performing well.

Bah expressed his excitement about joining the club, saying that the coach’s precise and attacking ideas were a major factor in his decision. “There’s quality and experience in every position,” he said.

The coach has very precise, attacking ideas, which all the players stick to, including the defenders. That was a major factor in my choice. I’m proud to be joining this club and this project,” Bah commended.

The Sierra Leone international has two caps for his country and has previously played for Valladolid in the Spanish top flight. He joined Manchester City in the winter of 2025 before being loaned out to Lens.

Bah is looking forward to the upcoming season, saying, “There are some big dates coming up very early in the summer. It’s going to be an exciting season. It’s up to me and us to be ready!
