A residential building located at 610 Bai Bureh Road in Allen Town caught fire earlier today, July 4, 2025, sending heavy smoke billowing from the structure.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Witnesses reported that the fire started abruptly, despite the absence of electricity in the neighborhood at the time. Concerned neighbors quickly raised the alarm and attempted to contact the Sierra Leone National Fire Force.
However, as of the latest reports, the fire department had not yet arrived at the scene. Residents and local youths made efforts to access the compound to assist in extinguishing the fire, but they were unable to unlock the gate.
The fire has intensified, making entry into the building impossible. The extent of the damage is currently unknown, and it has not been determined if any individuals are trapped inside. The ongoing blaze poses a significant risk to lives and surrounding properties.
