President Julius Maada Bio has made it clear that he has not endorsed any candidate for the Sierra Leone People’s Party flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He made this statement during the SLPP’s 14th National Delegates Conference in 2025, where interest is already growing around who will lead the party into the next presidential race. His message comes at a time when some party members are showing interest in the position.

At the event, President Bio said he is not backing any individual and wished all possible candidates well. He added that the best candidate will emerge through the right process.
