WIMSAL Mourns the Passing of Veteran Journalist Hawa Moseray

Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) has announced the passing of veteran journalist Hawa Moseray, who died on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, at Aspen Hospital in Brookfields, Freetown.

Hawa Moseray was a former staff member of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) and was notably attached to State House under the Office of the President. Her work earned her recognition as a dedicated and passionate media professional who contributed significantly to national broadcasting and journalism.

WIMSAL expressed deep sorrow over her death, extending heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and the broader media community in Sierra Leone.

“Her passing is a great loss to the media fraternity,” the organization noted in a statement. “We honour her legacy and the path she paved for many women in journalism.”
