The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has launched a significant outreach initiative aimed at strengthening ties with local farmers and partners in Moyamba District.
Led by the proactive District Agriculture Officer, Mohamed Sesay, alongside the dedicated District Extension Officer (D.E.O), Brima S. Bangura and Block 2 Extension Worker Alfred Sesay, the team visited farmers directly at their farmlands and homes.
The outreach aimed to observe and monitor the diligent efforts of farmers across various communities, particularly focusing on the Kori Chiefdom. Alfred Sesay emphasised that these visits are essential for understanding the challenges and successes faced by farmers in their daily activities.

In a related effort, the team paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Njala University, Prof. Allieu M. Bah, at his office in Mokonde Campus. This meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and agricultural stakeholders in enhancing agricultural practices and research.
The MAFS initiative reflects a commitment to supporting farmers and fostering sustainable agricultural development in the region. The team’s hands-on approach aims to empower local farmers and ensure they receive the necessary guidance and resources to thrive.
