The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, has officially congratulated East End Lions Football Club for emerging champions of the 2024/2025 Sierra Leone Premier League.

Dr. Abdulai, who witnessed the closing ceremony of the league on Monday, 18th August 2025 at the Approved School playing field, commended the management, players, and supporters of East End Lions FC for their resilience and hard work throughout the season.

He further emphasized the Government’s unwavering commitment to the development of sports, highlighting its alignment with His Excellency President Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Game Changer Agenda, particularly in creating jobs for young people and providing positive alternatives to drug abuse.

“The Government of Sierra Leone remains the biggest funder of football. This victory is not just a celebration for East End Lions, but also a unique opportunity for talent development that will strengthen our national team,” Dr. Abdulai stated.

Dr. Abdulai also extended profound appreciation to the Premier League Board Chairman, Justice Mark Ngegba, and the entire Board for their tireless efforts in successfully organizing this year’s league, as well as for providing both the cash prize and the trophy that crowned the champions.

Finally, he extended gratitude to all the participating teams, officials, the media, and fans who contributed to the success of this year’s Premier League season and expressed hope for an even more competitive and exciting league come next season.
