The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SLE) has appointed Ibrahim G. T. Sankoh as Chair of its Marketing Commission, a strategic move to enhance the Committee’s promotional efforts and foster stronger partnerships.

Sankoh, who is President of the Sierra Leone Golf Association and holds a senior management position at Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, was confirmed in his new role following a Board resolution passed at the NOC/CGA-SLE Annual General Meeting on June 14, 2025.

This appointment aligns with the Committee’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which focuses on enhancing the visibility and impact of the Olympic and Commonwealth movements in Sierra Leone.

NOC/CGA-SLE President Prince Vandy Sualley described the appointment as an opportunity to enhance brand visibility and attract new sponsorships, noting its relevance to preparations for future events, including the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Under Sankoh’s leadership, the Marketing Commission is expected to develop updated sponsorship models, increase the use of digital platforms, and broaden public engagement with Olympic and Commonwealth values.

Sports stakeholders have generally welcomed the appointment, viewing it as a step toward modernizing the Committee’s marketing approach and ensuring sustained visibility and support for its programmes.
