David Manley, Chief Executive Officer of Felei Tech City, has commenced a benchmarking mission in South Korea with a strategic visit to Pangyo Techno Valley, the country’s leading innovation hub.

The visit, which forms part of the READY Salone project, is aimed at drawing lessons from South Korea’s dynamic technology ecosystem while fostering partnerships that can accelerate Sierra Leone’s digital transformation.

This latest mission comes on the heels of earlier benchmarking visits to China and Nigeria, all aligned with Felei Tech City’s roadmap to establish Sierra Leone’s first smart technology city. The initiative seeks to position the country as a sub-regional hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital skills development.

“Pangyo Techno Valley is proof of how a strong technology ecosystem can transform an economy. As we build Felei Tech City, our goal is to adapt these best practices to create a future-ready environment where Sierra Leonean youth can innovate, scale, and compete globally,” said David Manley, CEO of Felei Tech City.

The READY Salone project is a flagship digital economy initiative funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. It is designed to create jobs, enhance digital skills, and unlock opportunities for Sierra Leone’s youthful population.
