The High Court of Sierra Leone has granted an interim injunction in a defamation matter involving the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, and Mrs. Admire Jalloh (née Bio), popularly known as “Mama of Freetown.”
The order, issued on Friday, September 5, 2025, by Honourable Justice Andrew Samuel Curtis Johnson of the General Civil Division, restrains Mrs. Jalloh from publishing, republishing, or disseminating any material alleged to be libelous or slanderous against the Minister. The injunction applies to both traditional media and social media platforms.
According to the court documents, counsel for the plaintiff, A. Kamanda Esq., moved an ex-parte motion supported by an affidavit filed the same day. The application sought protection against what the Minister’s legal team described as defamatory publications targeting Dr. Senesie.
Justice Johnson, after considering the submissions, granted the injunction pending the full hearing and determination of the matter. The order further directed that copies of the motion and supporting affidavit be served on the defendant for the continuation of proceedings.
The case has been adjourned to Wednesday, September 10, 2025, for further hearing. No order as to cost was made at this stage.
