Over 500 security officers from the Sierra Leone Police and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces are set to benefit from a new nationwide training programme on cybersecurity, digital literacy, and emerging technologies.
The initiative is being rolled out by the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication Technology and Innovation (MoCTI), the Office of National Security, and other partners.
According to officials, the training will officially launch in October 2025 as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. It is designed to equip officers with practical skills to detect, prevent, and respond to cybercrime and other modern threats.
All training resources will be hosted on a dedicated digital platform to allow continuous learning and professional development, with the goal of strengthening digital resilience across Sierra Leone’s security sector.
