Taninihun Village has seen a big change with the installation of 10 solar-powered streetlights by Foison Minerals SL Limited, greatly boosting nighttime visibility, community safety, and daily convenience for inhabitants.
The project, finished over the weekend, was well accepted by community members and local stakeholders, ushering in a new era in the village’s development.
During the ceremonial handover ceremony, Alex Kamara, Site Manager for Unit Two, stated the company’s commitment to supporting its host communities beyond mining activities.
“Foison Minerals is not only focused on mining operations; we are equally committed to improving the quality of life for people in the areas where we operate,” Alex Kamara said. “We believe in building meaningful and long-term partnerships with our host communities.”
Residents have already observed some changes, such as safer nighttime movements and increased security. The program is part of Foison Minerals’ overall commitment to improving community ties and positively impacting the places in which it operates.
With the successful completion of this project, Foison Minerals continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility in Sierra Leone.
