His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone and Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS Member States, has reiterated his commitment to deepening subregional cooperation through the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Speaking during a meeting with ECOWAS Ambassadors in Washington, D.C., President Bio underscored the importance of collaboration among member states in safeguarding peace, advancing integration, and driving prosperity across the region.

He emphasized that strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties remains a top priority during his tenure as ECOWAS Chairperson, stressing that collective action is key to the bloc’s long-term success.
The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts by ECOWAS leadership to foster dialogue and reinforce partnerships with its officials and international stakeholders.
