The Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Tonkoro Police Division, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Community Relations Department (CRD), has engaged pupils of Fewa Secondary School in Kono on issues related to sexual and cyber offences. The sensitization session took place on Monday, 6th October 2025.
The engagement aimed to raise awareness and educate pupils about their human rights, particularly focusing on how they can protect themselves especially girls from various forms of abuse.
During the session, Detective Sesay, Head of the FSU at Tonkoro Police Division, urged pupils to report any form of abuse to the police, assuring them that appropriate actions would be taken to ensure justice is served.
Also addressing the pupils, Detective Constable Bockarie from the Cyber/WAPIS Unit educated them on the dangers of cybercrime and its consequences. He cautioned the students against engaging in any form of online criminal activity and also warned about the harmful effects of drug abuse, particularly the use of Kush, which he said could destroy their health and future.
At the end of the engagement, both pupils and teachers expressed their appreciation to the FSU team for the informative session. The event concluded with a group photograph involving the FSU officers and the school administration.
