Two surveyors, 33-year-old Saio Turay and 30-year-old Fara Bangalie Kamara, appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 facing four charges related to alleged land fraud. The charges include conspiracy contrary to law and three counts of obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to court particulars, between 1st and 10th May 2024, at the Youyi Building Canteen in Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with unknown individuals to commit a felony, namely obtaining money by false pretences.
Count Two alleges that the accused obtained Le 50,000 from Ansumana Conteh by falsely claiming to have land for sale on Grafton Highway, knowing the claim was false.
Count Three states that on 1st May 2024, at #7c Hill Cut Road, Wilberforce, they obtained Le 5,500 from Conteh by falsely promising to prepare land documents.

Count Four alleges that the second accused, Fara Bangalie Kamara, obtained Le 2,000 from Conteh by falsely claiming to have surveyed a one-and-a-half-town lot on Grafton Highway, knowing the claim to be false.
During their first appearance, the defendants did not enter a plea.
The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, applied for a bench warrant against the defendants and their sureties. Magistrate Fornah granted the application, issuing bench warrants for the absent defendants and their sureties.
The case has been adjourned to 15th October 2025.
