The Government of Sierra Leone will host the 3rd Climate Resilience and Energy Transition Dialogue (CRET 2025) on October 20–21, 2025, at the Bintumani Conference Center in Freetown.
The announcement was made by Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security (PI-CREF).
According to Dr. Yumkella, the Presidential Initiative operates under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.
“This year’s event will bring together global leaders, development partners, private sector investors, and civil society to spark transformative investments, power green growth, and broaden sustainable energy access while strengthening resilient food systems,” he said.
He further noted that CRET 2025 will highlight President Bio’s climate leadership and Mission 300, launch key national initiatives, and foster partnerships to drive inclusive development and promote a greener future for Sierra Leone.
The theme for this year’s dialogue is:
“Mobilizing Investments for Climate Action, Food Security, Clean Cooking & a Just Energy Transition for All in Sierra Leone.”
Powered by the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy and Food Security (PI-CREF), and led by Dr. Yumkella, the third edition of CRET aims to mobilize global and local stakeholders to unlock transformative investments, accelerate green growth, and strengthen sustainable energy access and resilient food systems across the country
