The Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) has announced the temporary closure of its Wilkinson Road Branch (at the Aberdeen Road Junction) to facilitate necessary rehabilitation works.

The closure will take effect on Monday, October 20, 2025.

The bank stated in a public notice that the closure is part of its “ongoing efforts to improve our service delivery environment.”

The decision comes after the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) recently issued serious safety concerns, finding the seven-storey building to be in critical condition and at risk of collapse due to severe structural instability, including large cracks and damaged beams.

During the rehabilitation period, all operations from the Wilkinson Road Branch will be transferred to the Main Motor Road, Congo Cross Branch, located next to the NP Congo Cross Filling Station.

SLCB apologized for the temporary inconvenience and encouraged customers to utilize alternative banking channels, including: Nearest SLCB Branches (Lumley and Youyi Building), The SLCB Mobile App, Mi Yone SLCB Moni Wallet, and Corporate Internet Banking and the USSD Code: ∗944#.

The bank affirmed its commitment to enhancing the banking experience for its customers and thanked the public for their understanding.
