The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has announced the passing of Mr. Abdul Sallam Hussein, who served as Translator and Interpreter at the mission for over two decades.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Abdul Sallam Hussein, our esteemed Translator/Interpreter, who dedicated more than twenty years of service to our mission. Mr. Hussein passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Ghana,” the Embassy stated in an official release.

In its message of condolence, the Embassy described Mr. Hussein as a committed and respected member of the diplomatic team whose “tireless efforts and expertise greatly contributed to strengthening relations between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia.”

The Ambassador of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mohammed Barrie, also extended heartfelt condolences to Mr. Hussein’s family and loved ones, praying for Allah’s mercy and the grant of Jannatul Firdaus.

“Abdul Sallam Hussein’s legacy of service and dedication will be deeply missed. May Allah grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus,” the Embassy concluded.
