Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League champions, Mogbwemo Queens FC have been drawn in Group B of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU A Qualifiers in The Gambia.
The draw was conducted on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Banjul, The Gambia, with the Queens drawn alongside hosts Berewuleng and A.S. Bolonta of Guinea.
The tournament will mark Mogbwemo Queens’ third appearance on the continental stage, with the club aiming to build on its domestic success and secure qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League group stage.
Preparations are already underway, with the Queens intensifying training ahead of the competition. The team is working on its fitness and tactical preparations as it gets ready to represent Sierra Leone on the continental stage.
Mogbwemo Queens are also expecting three additional players to join the squad, while the final tournament squad is expected to be announced ahead of the team’s departure for The Gambia.
As part of their preparations, the Queens are also set to unveil their official tournament jersey ahead of the competition.
According to the club, management and the technical team are tentatively scheduled to depart Sierra Leone for The Gambia on August 21, 2026.
Mogbwemo Queens have called on the government, corporate institutions, supporters, football lovers, individuals and well-wishers to support the team as it prepares for the WAFU A challenge.
The Queens will be hoping to make a strong showing in The Gambia and secure qualification to the next stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
