A joint operation by police officers from the Moyamba and Taiama divisions has resulted in the discovery of a significant quantity of suspected narcotics. The operation took place around 16:20 hours on Monday, 13th October 2025, led by Inspector Edmond Kassay.
Acting on intelligence, the police raided the premises of Fatmata Sillah, located at the main junction of Taiama. During the raid, officers discovered 183 wraps of dry leaves believed to be cannabis sativa, as well as a substantial amount of tramadol. This included 35 specific tablets, seven cards each containing ten tablets, and two boxes with ten cards each.
Both the suspect and the seized items have been transported to the Moyamba police station. Following the necessary documentation, the case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
The operation underscores the commitment of local law enforcement to combat drug-related activities in the region. Authorities continue to urge the community to report any suspicious activities to aid in maintaining public safety.
