The Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union has expressed deep sorrow following the alleged killing of one of its members in Bombali District over a dispute involving “master money” a payment arrangement between motorbike owners and riders.

According to reports from the Bombali District Secretary General of the Riders Union, Mr. Abdulai Kamara, and videos circulating online, the tragic incident led to the untimely death of the young rider, who was laid to rest on October 7th, 2025.

The burial ceremony drew a large crowd, including district and regional executives of the union, fellow riders, and community members who gathered to pay their final respects. The atmosphere was filled with grief and calls for justice for their fallen colleague.

Police officers were present at the burial and have confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. The Sierra Leone Police have assured the public that a full investigation is underway and urged all riders to remain calm while justice takes its course.

In a statement, the leadership of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union condemned the act of violence and called on its members to remain peaceful and united.

“Violence should never be the answer to any dispute. We stand for fairness, respect, and humanity,” the statement read.

The union reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and dialogue within the transportation sector, emphasizing that disputes between riders and bike owners should be resolved through lawful and non-violent means.
