The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, has made her political intentions clear, affirming her continued pursuit of the presidency during a recent interview on AYV Television.

When asked directly whether she still aspires to become president, Aki-Sawyerr gave a firm and confident response. “Nothing would change that. I’m an aspirant for the Flagbearer of the All-People’s Congress Party (APC),” she stated. “There is so much we can do for the residents of this city and citizens across the country. I believe I’m in a position to make that difference. So definitely, I am contesting and will continue to contest until I win.”

Her remarks put to rest speculation about her political future, signaling that she remains steadfast in her pursuit of national leadership.

As the political season intensifies, Mayor Aki-Sawyerr’s statement underscores her determination to extend her leadership beyond Freetown, with her sights firmly set on the highest office in the land.
