SEND Sierra Leone has certified a group of women leaders from across Sierra Leone following the successful completion of the National Female Leaders Training for Councillors, Members of Parliament, Emerging Young and Women Leaders.
The three-day intensive training, supported by Irish Aid Ireland in Sierra Leone, brought together women councillors, chairpersons, mayors, political aspirants, and emerging young leaders to strengthen their leadership capacity and public engagement skills.
Participants were trained in leadership, advocacy, strategic communication, political visibility, coalition building, and resilience—tools essential for effective governance and political participation.
Speaking at the certification ceremony, organizers commended the participants for their dedication and commitment to advancing women’s leadership in Sierra Leone. They noted that empowering women in politics and governance is key to achieving national development and gender equality.
With their new knowledge and confidence, the certified women leaders are now poised to champion inclusive governance, inspire other women, and contribute meaningfully to Sierra Leone’s political future ahead of the 2028 elections.
The training is part of ongoing efforts to build a strong network of women leaders who will drive positive change and representation across the country.
