The Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by AIG (Rtd.) Morie Lengor Esq, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration through fortnightly Inter-Agency engagements with institutional heads.

On Thursday, 23rd October 2025, the Ministry convened its Heads of Agencies and Departments for a Biweekly Inter-Agency Dialogue, hosted by the Sierra Leone Immigration Department (SLID) at their Conference Hall on Gloucester Street, Freetown.

In his opening statement, Rtd. AIG Morie Lengor Esq. emphasized the enforcement of compliance with reporting requirements, institutional accountability, and the submission of Service Charters by all agency heads. He encouraged agencies to remain committed to their work, acknowledging the daily challenges they face, particularly in terms of resources.

Mr. Phillip George, Acting Director of Corporate Strategy and Planning, reported on behalf of the host agency, updating participants on SLID activities and strategic initiatives across the provinces. While highlighting challenges, he reaffirmed the department’s commitment to its duties.

Throughout the meeting, heads of agencies shared updates on their operations and discussed their role in achieving national security goals.

They also highlighted operational challenges, including limited access to vehicles, but pledged to enhance preparedness, efficiency, and adaptability through structured planning, clear roles, and coordinated Inter-Agency dialogue.
