Victor Koroma, a 55-year-old driver, has been sentenced to five years in prison at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown for stealing a Bajaj motorcycle worth NLe 33,608.

The incident occurred on August 20, 2025, at #8 Jordan Drive, Lumley, in the Western Area, when Koroma took the motorcycle belonging to Abu Marrah.

Although Koroma pleaded not guilty, the court considered the prosecution’s evidence along with his prior criminal history, which included an eight-year prison sentence and escape during a prison break.

Magistrate Sao Mamakoh Betty Kallon emphasized that the severity of the crime and Koroma’s record made a prison sentence the only suitable punishment.
