Amid public controversy over the scheduling of a government event on the same day as his highly anticipated concert, Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador, Kao Denero, has signaled his determination to proceed with his show while the Ministry of Information officially confirmed the conflicting government festival.

The conflict centers on December 13th, the date Kao Denero has been promoting for months for his “All Game Final Show” at Number 2 Beach.

The controversy escalated when the Ministry of Information & Civic Education posted flyers confirming its Salone Civic Festival 2025 will run from December 11th to 13th, concluding on the exact day of the Ambassador’s event.

The Ministry’s post, captioned “Leh Wi Put Salone Fos,” stated that the festival will host discussions on governance, showcase progress, and embrace culture and music at the Miatta Civic Center, Youyi Building.

The official flyer for the Civic Festival highlighted several top government dignitaries attending as guests, including: Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, First Lady Fatima Bio and Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh.

Despite accusations from political figure Sylvia Olayinka Blyden that the scheduling conflict is an act of “malicious sabotage” and ungratefulness, Kao Denero has maintained an active social media presence promoting his event and signaling his readiness for the challenges ahead.

The artist posted a picture of a potential new hairstyle, asking fans if he should switch his haircut for the December 13th event.

In a separate post, he seemed to acknowledge the political resistance, adopting a defiant tone: “When GOD laid his hands on my head I believe he said SON I WILL MAKE YOU BE GREAT but just be prepared for the fights ahead”.

The controversy highlights a growing tension between the government and the Entertainment Ambassador over the coordination of national events.
