An electrician, Abdul Conteh, was remanded to custody following his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 on charges relating to an alleged wounding incident.

Conteh faces three counts under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861: wounding with intent (Section 18), wounding (Section 120), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (Section 47). The charges arise from an incident reported on Monday, 24 November 2025, at No. 13 King Williams Street, Freetown.

According to the charge sheet, Conteh allegedly wounded Abubakarr Kamara with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, while the second and third counts allege he maliciously wounded and assaulted Kamara, causing actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read in court, Conteh did not enter a plea. Magistrate Samura refused bail and ordered that he be remanded to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.

The matter has been adjourned to 11 December 2025 for further hearing.
