The All People’s Congress (APC) has unveiled plans for a nationwide Pre-Convention Elections Sensitization Tour, which is set to run from December 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by the APC’s Internal Elections Management Committee (IEMC) on December 10, 2025.
According to the statement, the purpose of the tour is to prepare the party’s members for the upcoming internal elections, ensuring they are well-informed about the processes, guidelines, and regulations that will govern the election.
The sensitization tour will target a wide range of key party stakeholders, including Regional Chairmen, District Chairmen, Members of Parliament, Councillors, Constituency and Ward Executives, as well as the broader membership of the APC.
The IEMC emphasized that the tour is designed to provide comprehensive information on the procedures for the party’s internal elections. This includes educating party members on the APC Code of Conduct for Elections, outlining the rights and responsibilities of members, and ensuring that all activities align with the APC Constitution (2022) and the Elections Framework.
The IEMC also stressed that the tour’s goal is to ensure transparency, promote awareness, and ensure a smooth and fair election process in preparation for the party’s convention.
In addition to district-level engagements, the committee will also engage with several key organs of the APC. These consultations will involve groups such as the National Elders Council, the National Young Congress (NYC), the National Women’s Congress (NWC), the National Veterans Congress (NVC), and the Persons with Disability (PWD) Wing, among others.
The IEMC has also planned to engage Former Members of Parliament, Former Councillors, and various Affiliate Groups, all of whom play an integral role in the APC.
The tour is expected to be a crucial step in building momentum for the upcoming convention and ensuring that party members are fully prepared and aware of their roles within the electoral process.
The APC’s IEMC has underscored the importance of this initiative, which it believes will set the stage for a transparent and inclusive election process within the party.
This nationwide sensitization initiative is seen as part of the APC’s broader efforts to strengthen internal governance and ensure that all members are equally equipped with the knowledge necessary to participate in the internal electoral processes.
The IEMC statement concluded by emphasizing that this tour is not just a preparatory exercise, but also a vital mechanism for fostering unity, transparency, and accountability within the party, as it gears up for the internal elections leading up to its convention.
