Joint security personnel of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) have arrested two suspects at the Wanjama Police Checkpoint for allegedly attempting to evade security screening and being in possession of suspected illegal drugs.
The incident occurred on Thursday, 18 December 2025, when security officers on routine duty intercepted the suspects as they attempted to unlawfully bypass the checkpoint. The suspects were identified as Ibrahim Sama of No. 36 Musa Street, Bo, who was riding a Victor motorcycle bearing registration number AXC 773, and Osman Koroma of Taiama Town.
Upon interception, security personnel conducted a thorough search, during which a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis was discovered in their possession.
Both suspects were immediately arrested and taken into police custody. Police sources confirmed that they are currently assisting investigators as inquiries into the matter continue.
Authorities say further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
