First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has reaffirmed her deep connection to Kono District, describing herself as “a daughter of the soil” whose commitment comes “from the soul.”

Speaking during the KonoFest celebration, which she proudly hosted in Koindu City in front of the ongoing construction of the ultra-modern party office, the First Lady emphasized that Kono holds a special place in her heart.

She noted that Kono “matters” to her in every sense – across all sectors and “in every heartbeat.” After what she described as a long, stressful, and hardworking year, she said she chose to give back to the people of Kono by bringing top musicians to entertain and uplift the community. The event, she added, turned out to be massive and unforgettable.

The First Lady expressed gratitude to all who attended the celebrations from the previous day through to the morning, commending the unity and joy displayed. She also extended appreciation to the artists who performed, describing them as phenomenal.

“From the depths of my heart, I say thank you,” she said.

She concluded by wishing peace, love, and blessings to families across the country during the festive season and to the nation as a whole.
